Here's a bit of a twist on giving a chocolate egg for Easter. This is an ostrich egg gilded in silver and gold leaf. Such a great present! I do also gild chocolate eggs in edible gold for Easter, but this ostrich egg is even more exciting than that. There is a tiny hole in the base where the egg was blown (a long time ago as the shell is an antique) And my client is going to fill the egg with chocolate. I think it's a wonderful idea, but I will be very cross indeed if I find out it was smashed to get to the chocolate, it took me ages to decorate!

Silver Chairs to Match Your Nailvarnish
I have a very glamourous and rather gorgeous French client who brought me a sample of Dior silver nailpolish and asked me to match her set of dining chairs to the colour. Here's one of them. I told her I was worried the chairs would look rather like skinny leopards as they are slim in the Regency style, but as my client looks slightly feline herself, she didn't mind. This effect is silver powder in solution on a black base. I can't say exactly how I did it, it's got to stay a one-off for my client, but here's a picture.
Swedish Polychrome Cabinet
Oh, I've been so lazy with writing on this blog, and also it's so nice to have Kirsty's pretty face here, haven't wanted to disturb her! Have been very busy with work though. Plenty of interesting projects coming in. This was a very lovely Swedish piece I worked on recently, was such a fun thing to do. It looked like an old cigarette when it came to me, absolutely FILTHY, it didn't deserve its picture taken, but it cleaned up incredibly well.
